Post-natal Checkup

Various appointment times available | Dudley, West Midlands

What is a post-natal checkup?

From 6 weeks – 6 years we offer postnatal checks looking at posture, breathing, tummy gap, pelvic floor and functional movement. We can also screen mums for any postnatal conditions that they may have such as urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain and tummy gap.

You are given a report of the findings and Ruth will help to develop a recovery and rehabilitation plan to help return to the activities and the exercise that you love to do. This recovery plan will help treat and manage any symptoms as well as minimise and hopefully prevent, some of the common postnatal complications.

You will be required to fill in the pre-assessment before attending your appointment.

Reviews of Post-natal Checkup

“Following a somewhat dissatisfied 6 weeks check up with my GP, I contacted Ruth and booked myself in for an appointment. It was AMAZING! Ruth was able to identify specific core areas I needed to work on. I came away feeling very looked after and felt I was certainly on the right track to recovering well after giving birth. It’s definitely worth booking yourself onto this!”

“Yesterday I had an appointment with one of my besties. It was long over due-had B in 2015 and R is almost 4! It was amazing. And I’m so pleased I did it. I have a few things to work on which will help improve my core status and remove some of the barriers I felt I had in order to do all the activity I do safely and with strength and form. Ruth is of course a great friend of mine so you would think that the internal assessment would have been a tad awks. But no. She is just too professional-just as if she was casually doing physio on a foot. So Mummies-it doesn’t matter when you gave birth. And it doesn’t matter if you’ve managed to remain active and have no obvious issues relating to it. Get yourself booked in with Ruth. You’ll be so pleased you did. Thanks Ruth!”

“I had heard about post-natal checkup and discovered that Ruth specialised in providing this service. Following a somewhat dissatisfied 6 weeks check up with my GP, I contacted Ruth and booked myself in for a checkup appointment. It was AMAZING! Ruth was able to identify specific core areas I needed to work on. She checked my posture and how I was doing my pelvic floor exercises. She gave me exercise techniques to work on that would release muscle tension and provided me with a lot of useful information. I came away feeling very looked after and felt I was certainly on the right track to recovering well after giving birth. I would highly recommend this service with Ruth. If you’ve recently had a baby or even had a baby a few years ago, it’s definitely worth booking yourself onto this!” – Sarah
